It starts by a trek through roiling hills and valleys via rugged terrains until you discover the exact location of these creatures in the Jungle. After locating them you are allowed to be in their presence for only one hour. For a long period of time Uganda’s Gorilla permit has been at a cost of $600 USD per person but come 1-July -2020 on wards, the prices for the permits will increase. This permit is valid for use by one person on the respective dates.
From 1st July 2020, Uganda’s Gorilla trekking permit will costs $700 USD each per person. After a couple of years setting the Gorilla permits at $600 USD per person, Uganda Wildlife Authority has decided to increase the price of the permits to $700 USD per person – an addition of $100 USD.
This new pricing was decided after a meeting held by Uganda Wildlife Authority, Uganda Tourism Board and Association of Uganda Tour Operators.
All responsible authorities supported the price increment and Uganda’s permit will still be affordable when compared to the Rwanda’s permit which costs $1500 USD per person.
This means that if you were planning for a Safari to Uganda with a quotation of $600 for gorillas, you only got a few days up to 30th of June 2020, after that, be ready to top up the $100.
Meanwhile Gorilla trekking in DR Congo remains at $400 per person.
